2015-01-11: Leaves but no fruit (Mark 11:12-26)

Notes:  Worship is ascribing worth to God.  When Jesus goes to the temple the next day he finds it filled up with people doing a lot of things that had nothing to do with worship, or rather a great deal to do with worship, but not the worship of God.  Just as He found the fig tree with leaves and no fruit, so he finds the temple filled with activity and none of it pleasing to God.  He curses the fig tree, passes judgment on its unfruitfulness, and does the same on the temple.  Is our personal worship like the fig tree?  Is our corporate worship like the temple?  What does our Lord find when we worship Him?
